Some of the best meals are eaten standing up, walking along a canal, or sitting on a bridge. Our signature blue box is designed for exactly that — golden cod, Vleminckx fries, and sauces, all perfectly arranged for eating on the go.
We're right on the Muntplein, where the Amstel meets the Singel. The flower market is around the corner, the Rembrandtplein is a two-minute walk, and there's a tram stop right outside the door.

The Craft — hand-battered, fresh-fried
Every piece of cod is battered by hand and fried fresh, right in front of you.
We believe great food starts with honest work. Our cod arrives fresh, is hand-filleted and dipped in our house-made batter — a light, crispy coating that lets the fish shine through. Each piece is fried individually to golden perfection.
The fries are cut fresh from whole potatoes, double-fried the Belgian way for that unmistakable crunch on the outside and fluffy inside. Top it off with freshly grated Parmesan or choose from our selection of house-made sauces.
No heat lamps, no pre-made batches. Everything is prepared fresh, made to order.

Our fries are made by the family behind Amsterdam's most legendary fries shop.
Friteshuis Vleminckx has been the undisputed king of Amsterdam fries since 1957. What started as a small Flemish fries counter on the Voetboogstraat became a citywide institution — known for their perfectly double-fried Belgian-style fries and a sauce menu of 25 house-made varieties.
At Fish & Fries, we are proud to carry the Vleminckx name. Our fries are prepared the Vleminckx way: fresh-cut, double-fried in the finest oil, and served with sauces made by the Sausmeesters themselves. It's a partnership built on a shared love for quality — no shortcuts, no compromises.
